2 Engg college students drown in channel near check dam

: Two engineering college students drowned while taking a bath in a channel near a check dam across Cauvery river at Jedar Palayam here today, police said.

The male students, both aged 20 and second year students of Mahendra Engineering college were taking a bath with their four friends when they strayed into deep water and drowned.

Police stopped water flow into the channel to retrieve the bodies and located one of them. A search was on to locate the body of the other student, they said.
