2 swept away by flooded water in Raj

Two persons were swept away by the flooded waters of two rivers in separate incidents in Baran district of Rajasthan, police said today.

Body of a 35-year-old man, who appears to be mentally challanged, was swept away by the flooded waters of Ghadawali river under NH 27 bridge yesterday as the police was trying to rescue him with a rope, SHO Ram Kishan Yadav said.

He was advised to stay away from the overflowing river but instead of following the advice, he climbed down and was trapped, the SHO added.

His body was recovered from the riverside in Kunda village and his identity is yet to be ascertained, he said.
 

In another incident, a 40-year-old government school teacher, identified as Brijmohan Meena was swept away by the flooded waters yesterday while he was crossing culvert of river in Samraniya village in Kelwada area of the district, SHO Hukum Chand said.

The search and rescue operation for the missing is underway, he said.
