Two of the four women, who got injured after they were hit by a speeding vehicle on the city's foreshore road along Dal Lake, died at a hospital, a police official said on Tuesday.
The accident took place near Duck Park on Monday, he said.
Two of the four women -- Aisha and Masrat -- succumbed to injuries at a hospital here, the official said.
"The hit-and-run case was resolved within hours and the driver of the vehicle was arrested," he said.
"The accused driver has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Sheikh. The vehicle involved in the commission of crime was also seized," the official said, adding the accused was shifted to Nigeen police station.
