Two women were killed when the motorcycle they were travelling on was hit by a speeding truck near Michauni Ki Madhaiya village under Sahaswan Police Station here Wednesday, officials said.
Bhagwati Devi (50) and Anita (45), the pillion rider, were on their way to visit a doctor when the mishap took place, SSP Ashok Kumar said.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem, Kumar added.
Infuriated over the incident, locals staged a protest. Later, the police reached the spot and placated the protestors.
