2 women who entered flesh trade due to poverty rescued in Goa

Police rescued two women who claimed to have entered into due to their poor financial condition, an said Thursday.

The women, who are in their early 20s and hail from and Odisha, were loitering near the Calangute beach in North district on Wednesday when they were picked up for questioning, said.

The police suspect that they were trying to solicit customers near the beach.

When quizzed at the station, the two women claimed that the poor financial condition of their families back home forced them into flesh trade, Dalvi said.

They were later shifted to a state-run protection home, he added.
