Two youths, alleged to be involved in opening fire at a police team which had conducted a raid during its probe into a robbery case, have been arrested, police said today.
According to police, the accused have been identified as Aman Soni, 22, and Basarul, 24, and they were also involved in the daylight robbery on March 9 near Prem Bari bridge here when Rs 22 lakh cash was robbed from two motorcyclists.
The police said that Rs 25,700 cash out of the looted money has been recovered from them.

Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime), said the robbery was committed on March 9 when the assailants overtook the motorcyclists with their car and stole the cash at gun point.
He said that during the probe, the main accused involved in the case was identified as Kuldeep and a trap was laid on March 10 to nab him but Kuldeep and his associates opened fire at the police team.
"However, Kuldeep and one of his associates namely Ajeet Rana were arrested and Rs 21.5 lakh was recovered from Kuldeep by local police on March 10. On interrogation, it was revealed that two accused namely Alla Rakha (Basarul) and Aman Soni are also involved in these incidents," Yadav said.
Soni was arrested on March 13 while Basarul was arrested by the police on March 17, police said.
