20 tonnes of vegetables pooled from 9 Rythu bazaars were sent to Visakhapatnam today to sell to cyclone-affected people at subsidised rates, East Godavari District Joint Collector R Mutyaala Raju said here.
He said that vegetables collected from farmers' bazaars (rythu bazaars) of Rajahmundry, Kakinada, Kothapeta, Amalapuram and other places, were transported to Visakhaptnam.
He said that these vegetables would be sold at subsidised rates like potatoes, onions and tomatoes at Rs 5 per kilogram and other vegetables for Rs 3 per kilogram to cyclone hit people in Visakhapatnam.

Meanwhile, East Godavari District Collector Neetu Prasad said that the government has decided to postpone its Janmabhoomi Mavuru programme for two more days (October 15 and October 16) due to Cyclone Hudhud.
Accordingly, there will be no Janmabhoomi programme organised in the district on Wednesday and Thursday.
