2007 blast probe: AP HC recalls compensation order

The Andhra Pradesh High Court today recalled its earlier order concerning payment of compensation to the alleged victims of police harassment during probe into the 2007 Mecca Masjid bomb blast.
The state government had distributed the compensation to some of the Muslim youth who were identified as victims of police harassment during investigation into the bomb blast case.
One Venkatesh Goud, a city resident, questioned the grant of compensation.
A division bench headed by the Chief Justice had set aside the government order three days ago. The same order was recalled today on the ground that notices were not served on some of the affected parties.
