2007 Ludhiana blast accused found dead in prison

An activist of banned terrorist-outfit Babbar Khalsa International, facing trial in 2007 Shingar Cinema blast case, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in high security Nabha jail here.

Sandeep Singh alias Harry (35) was found dead in the prison with Jail officials claiming that he died due to heart attack.

The post mortem of his body was conducted at Nabha Civil hospital in the presence of Judicial Magistrate Baljinder Kaur, sources said.

Deputy Superintendent of Police of Nabha, Rajwinder Singh, said that police will act after the complete report of the post mortem.

Sandeep was arrested in December 2007 alongwith three others in connection with the blast.
 

On October 14, 2007, five persons were killed and more than 30 were injured when a powerful explosion took place at the cinema hall in Ludhiana.
