24-year-old girl commits suicide in UP

A 24-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide by hanging in Shorem village under Shahpur police station here, police said today.

Akansha Singh, a finance company employee in Meerut, was found hanging with ceiling at her house yesterday, police said.

According to her family, she was depressed over some unknown reasons since she returned from Meerut on leave, they said.

Her mobile phone was seized for investigation, they said.

The body was sent for postmortem, they said, adding the investigation is underway.
