26 structures gutted in Jammu city

Property worth lakhs of rupees was destroyed and 26 temporary structures were reduced to ashes when a fire broke out in Bharat Nagar area on the outskirts of the city today.

However, there was no loss of life, a fire department official said adding the blaze erupted due to electric short circuit.

"Twenty-six temporary structures and property worth lakhs of rupees were gutted," he said.

The blaze was extinguished after three hours, the official said.
