3 arrested with over 4 kg cannabis in UP

Three persons were arrested from two different places in the district and over four kg cannabis was seized from their possession, police said today.

Ravi Kumar and Shahvan were arrested from Balram Nagar last night and two kg cannabis was seized from their possession, Senior Superintendent of Police K S Emmanuel said.

During interrogation the duo confessed that they were taking it to a seller in that area, he claimed.

Meanwhile, Sihani Gate police held Sharafat with 2.2 kg cannabis from Reit ki Mandi last night, the SSP said, adding a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) have been registered against the accused.
