Three persons drowned while taking holy dip in river Ganga on the occasion of Purnima at Kachla ghat under Kotwali Ujhani police station area here today, police said.
On the occasion of Purnima , some families from Sokhla village in Hathras had come here to take a holy dip when seven persons went to the deeper side of the river, Superintendent of Police, Anil Kumar Yadav said.
With the locals and divers help, four were saved while three identified as-- Rahul (22), Rubi (15) and Sapna (18) drowned, the SP said adding that the bodies have been recovered and sent for post-mortem examination.
