Three men were beaten to death in Simdega district in connection with teasing of two women by one of them a year ago, a senior police officer said.
The three were killed allegedly by ten persons at Kanrowa village under Bano police station late last night, Superintendent of Police Rajiv Ranjan Singh said.
Rasikan Lugun, one of the deceased, had allegedly teased wife and daughter of one Sohrai Samad of the same village about a year ago, which strained the relationship between the two families.
A panchayat meeting had been convened on Monday over the issue but it could not be sorted out as members of both sides engaged in an altercation during the meeting, Singh said.
Following this, Rasikan, his father Dawood Lugun and a relative Junus Lugun were killed with sticks and axes allegedly by the members of the other family last night.
Singh said six accused named in the FIR were arrested today while search was on for four others, who were absconding.
