3 killed road accident in UP

Three persons were killed and over half a dozen others injured when the driver of an SUV lost control over the vehicle and it fell into a ditch in a village in Kalinjar area here, police said today.

Umesh Chandra (40), his daugther Aradhya (8), sister-in- law Rekha (30) and others were returning after attending a marriage. The car swerved out of control and fell into a ditch in Anandpur village last night, they said.

Umesh, Aradhya and Rekha died on the spot. The injured persons were rushed to a hospital, where their condition was stated to be stable.
