Three persons, including a minor, were allegedly thrashed by a group of men when they were going to dispose of animal entrails and hide after Bakra Eid in Kanjhawla area of outer Delhi, police said today.

The attack took place around 8 PM yesterday when the trio were going in a tempo to dispose of entrails and hide of animals sacrificed on the occasion of Bakra Eid on Tuesday.

They were intercepted and attacked by some men near Rani Khera village, they said.

"Four accused -- Navin, Raju, Devesh and Abhishek -- have been arrested and efforts are being made to nab the rest. We are also verifying whether these men are cow vigilantes and belonged to any group," said Vikramjeet Singh, DCP (Outer).

A case under Section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) has been registered at Kanjhawala police station in connection with the attack, he said.

The trio -- Abdul Khalid, a teacher of a madrassa in Z Block of Aman Vihar, tempo driver Ali Hasan and the minor -- were going to dump the animal waste at an isolated place in Rani Khera.

The tempo loaded with animal waste was intercepted by the attackers who came in another vehicle, Khalid told police.

The men were later joined by their accomplices and they started thrashing the trio with clubs and rods. The minor somehow managed to escape but Abdul and Hasan who were beaten up badly sustained injuries.

Police reached the spot after getting a PCR call and admitted Abdul and Hasan to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital.
