Three youths in a car allegedly threw chilly powder at an official of a courier company and robbed him of Rs 45 lakh in Ambala city today evening.
The official, Jitender Kumar, sustained minor injuries and was admitted to local civil hospital, police said.
Kumar told police that he had collected around Rs 45 lakh from four jewellery shops and he was on his way home in Sector 7 on a two-wheeler when the assailants came in a car.

They threw chilly powder in his eyes and took away the cash lying in the dickey of his two-wheeler, he said.
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police, Ambala, Rajbir Deswal said a case has been registered in this connection.
He said according to preliminary inquiry, it could be just a "cover up" for some hawala type of transactions.
