A patient admitted in the emergency ward of a government hospital was found with his throat slit this morning, police said.
The 35-year-old patient, who was not immediately identified, was yesterday found severely injured on railway tracks, police said.
He was taken to district hospital, from where he was referred to the government hospital, and he was admitted in the emergency ward yesterday, they said.

According to hospital attendants, an unknown person had last night laid down near the victim's bed.
On finding the victim bleeding with his throat slit in the morning, the attendants informed police.
As per preliminary investigation, the assailant had earlier also made an attempt on the victim's life, SP (City) Om Prakash said.
Doctors and attendants of the hospital are being quizzed, he said, adding that efforts were also on to identify the victim.
