4 children in China drowned while searching for duck eggs

Four minor boys drowned in a sea while searching for duck eggs in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, officials have said.

The victims, all primary school students, drowned in a bay of Beihai City yesterday, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

Police suspect the children, all aged 12, drowned themselves while searching for sea duck eggs.

Local government said it is consoling the parents of the victims.
