Four persons were today arrested for allegedly assaulting two cops who were on patrolling duty here, police said today.
"We have arrested four persons for assaulting two police officials who were on patrolling duty yesterday", said an official from Ghatkopar police station in suburban Mumbai.
Two sub-inspectors -- Mahadeo Shind and Bhushan Pawar attached with Ghatkopar police station were on patrol duty on Saturday when one of the accused Sumit Singh was speedily driving his motorcycle through a no-entry road , he said.

Shid, stopped him but Sumit did not cooperate. Later he called few of his friends and started assaulting Shid. They also assaulted Pawar, who came to Shid's aid, he added.
When few other police personnel reached the spot three persons fled away from the spot. The accused were identified as Sumit Singh ,Bipin Singh, Vikas Upadyaya and Siddharth Sampat, the officer said.
A case under section section 143 (unlawful assembly), 147 (rioting), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty) of IPC has been registered against the accused.
Efforts are on to nab the three others, the officer said.
