Police officials of the State Monitoring Cell today nabbed four persons and recovered 11 country made pistols and 46 cartridges during a raid at a commercial complex in Surat.
Based on a tip-off, the officials raided Kinara Complex in the Rander area of Surat early this morning and busted a racket of selling country made guns in the state.
"We received a tip-off that one Mohammad Ilyas has been running a racket of selling country made guns from his ship in the Kinara complex. We raided his shop and nabbed Ilyas as well three others involved in the illegal gun trade," Deputy Superintendent of Police of Monitoring Cell D S Chauhan said.

During the raid, police recovered 11 country made pistols of .32 calibre and 46 cartridges, Chauhan said.
"Investigation revealed that Ilyas is a gun dealer, who was caught earlier by the local branch under the Arms Act. We have handed them over to the Rander police for further investigation," Chauhan said.
