4, including father, arrested for selling minor girl

Four persons, including the father of a 14-year-old girl, were arrested today for allegedly selling the minor at Rs 7 lakh in Laxmangarh in Rajhastan's Alwar district.

Balveer Singh, the victim's father, and three others - Leeladhar Jat, Ishwar Singh and Subhash Agarwal of Haryana - were booked under sections 363 and 120 (B) of IPC, police said.

The accused father had fixed the deal with the Haryana-based family for providing her minor daughter for marriage, they said.

After a tip-off, villagers apprehended the accused and informed the police, SHO Laxmangarh Chet Ram told PTI.
