4 killed as truck rams into tea-stall in AP

Four persons were today killed and two others injured after a truck rammed into a roadside tea-stall in Ganapavaram village in the district, police said.

The incident occurred in the wee hours on the Ganapavaram Highway when the truck driver lost control of the vehicle, Nadendla Station House Officer P Dilipkumar said.

The truck was traveling from Bengaluru to Cuttack, he said, adding two persons who had come to buy tea were killed on the spot along with the tea stall owner and his wife.

The deceased have been identified as Bhaskararao (55), Punyavathi (50), Yedukondalu (43) and Kotaiah (65).
 

A case has been registered in this regard and efforts are on to nab the driver, who fled away from the spot, police said.
