5 officers suspended for remaining absent during duty in Jammu

Five officials from different departments were suspended for remaining absent during their duty hours in Ramban district here today.

The officers were found absent from their offices during a surprise inspection by the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz.

"Five employees have been suspended after they were found absent from duty without taking leave," an official said.

"The officers were found absent from their duties without proper permission besides not maintaining their movement registers," he added.

Among the suspended officers two are from the district fund office, and one each from R&B, district treasury office, and district youth services and sports department.
 

"Explanation has been sought from District Treasury Officer and Chief Account Officer of District Fund Office Ramban within two days regarding their unauthorised absence from their duties," the official said.
