A five-year-old girl was raped allegedly by her 31-year-old neighbour in Ludhiana, police said today.
According to an FIR filed by the girl's mother, the minor used to go to the accused house to watch TV as he was a next door neighbour.
When she did not came back home last night, her mother rushed to the next door and was shocked to see the condition of her daughter, Police Inspector Gurpreet Singh said.
Later, she took the minor, who was also bleeding, to the hospital. The medical examination confirmed rape, police said.
The 31-year-old accused, identified as Binni Kumar alias Ladoo, was arrested today evening and was booked under section 376 IPC and Prevention of Children and Women From Sexual Offences section 4 and 8, Singh said.
The investigation in the matter is underway, he said.
