50 acres of forestland retrieved in Rajouri

The Forest Protection Force (FPF) and police today jointly retrieved 50 acres of forestland in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

"400 Kanals (50 acres) of forestland falling in village Balliin Kalidhar range of Rajouri district was retrieved from encroachers Ram Dass, Sita Ram, Dev Raj, Joginder Lal and Shakti Kumar," a FPF officer said.

In an anti-encroachment drive, V S Senthil Kumar, Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Jammu constituted a team and the whole operation was carried out in the presence of police and Naib Tehsilder as Duty Magistrate.

A Forest Offence Report (FOR) for violation of Section 6 of Jammu and Kashmir Forest Act has also been registered against the encroachers, the DFO said.
