Six men were sentenced for life imprisonment today by a local court after conviction in a murder case in 1998 in Raiganj of North Dinajpur district.
Additional District Session judge Baisnab Sarker sentenced them to life after the six were convicted under Sections 302/34 under IPC.
According to the prosecution, the convicts shot dead 20-year old Puspendu Chanda on August 13, 1998 at Milanpara, in Raiganj police station area following a dispute.
The mother of the slain man Chhaya Chanda lodged an FIR at Raiganj police station and the trial began.
All the convicted persons are aged between 30 to 40 years now.
