60 kg poppy seized from truck in Jammu

The police here have seized 60 kg of poppy from a truck in Jammu city today after a long chase while the trucker managed to flee.

On a specific information, the police party intercepted a truck at Narwal Chowk for checking, but the driver sped away, a police officer said.

After a long chase, the truck was intercepted but the driver escaped, he said, adding while searching the vehicle 60 kg poppy was found and seized.

A case has been registered at Trikuta Nagar police station in this regard and investigation into the case is on, the officer said.
