The 63rd Plenary session of the North Eastern Council and the first under the Narendra Modi government at the Centre will be held in New Delhi on November 19, officials said today.
Governors and Chief Ministers of all eight states in the North East region would attend the session to discuss important development activities taken up by different central ministries and government organisations, they said.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Dr Jitendra Singh, who is the ex-officio chairman of North Eastern Council, agreed to convene the 63rd Plenary Meeting of the North Eastern Council in New Delhi on November 19, a statement from the council said.

According to the statement, discussions would be held on the various developmental activities taken up in the North East by different ministries and government organisations including the Ministries of Railways, Road Transport and Highways, Civil Aviation, Shipping (Waterways), Power, Communication and Information Technology.
The Annual Plan and the Gross Budgetary Support of the North Eastern Council would also be discussed at the session.
