69-year-old widow strangulated to death

A 69-year-old widow was allegedly strangulated to death by unidentified assailants in Jawahar Colony-2 here.

According to a police spokesperson, Premlata was found dead by his son Ashwini when he returned from work yesterday.

The incident happened when Ashwini had gone to work at a factory in Sector-24 and his mother was at home alone, the police spokesperson said.

A forensic team and crime branch of police arrived at the scene and the body was sent for post-mortem. A case has been registered and probe started, police said.
