8.89 lakh given viral fever preventive compound this yr

: A total of 8.89 lakh people in the district were given preventive viral fever compound 'Nilavembu Kashayam' in the district this calendar year, Environment Minister Thoppu N. Venkatachalam said here today.

Speaking at a meeting at Perundurai karumandichellipalayam village, he said the medicine had been given free of cost as a preventive measure and also on the orders of the Chief Minister

Already the compound was being given through 49 Government Siddha Hospitals in the district and had elicited a good response, he said.

The distribution of such Kashayam would continue, he said.

District Collector Dr S Prabakar, was also present.
