90% Rabi crops sowing completed in Chhattisgarh

Nearly 90 per cent of sowing of various Rabi crops has been completed in the ongoing crop season in the state.

"The farmers have completed sowing of Rabi crops on around 16,69,500 hectares of land against the proposed target of 18.76 lakh hectares in the state," an official statement said today.

While sowing of pulses has been completed on 8,30,730 hectares, an area of 2,48,270 hectares has been covered under oil seed crops cultivation, it said.

Similarly, sowing of wheat on 1,72,810 hectare, corn on 61,880 hectares, paddy on 1,63,900 hectares and barley on 4600 hectares has been accomplished, it added.
 

Moreover, sowing of grams, peas, moong, urad and other pulses and crops is nearly completed, the release said.
