95 people taken ill after eating wedding feast

At least 95 people fell ill, 25 of them seriously, after eating a wedding feast at Kirtaniya Bazar in Sipahijala district, officials said today.

The 95 people, including the bride and groom, were admitted to Sonamura subdivisional hospital and other local hospitals last night.

The incident occurred due to food poisoning, they said.

The condition of the 25 sick people is stated to be serious.

Sonamura subdivisional administration has rushed two medical teams to the spot and brought the sick people to hospitals after primary treatment.
