Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Ram Chandra today filed his nomination papers for the August 23 Bawana assembly bypoll.
Chandra filed the papers, accompanied by the party's Delhi unit convener and Labour Minister Gopal Rai, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh, Environment Minister Imran Hussain and a number of AAP MLAs.
The bypoll to the Bawana assembly constituency was necessitated due to the resignation of AAP legislator Ved Prakash.

The AAP has been working hard to ensure a victory in this constituency, which would prove to be a morale booster after its poor performance in Punjab and Goa, and loss in the Delhi civic election and the Rajouri Garden bypoll.
Prakash is the BJP candidate for the bypoll.
