A 35-year-old woman and her teenage daughter allegedly abducted from Jammu and Kashmir were rescued from here and two persons arrested in this connection, police said today.

A team of Jammu and Kashmir police had raided the house of Mohd Ahsan and Rahees, who are brothers, at Barwala village in the district last evening, they said.

A case had been registered against them with the police in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir for kidnapping the woman and her 13-year-old daughter.

The two brothers had been staying at the house of the woman's husband in Rajouri and developed a relationship with her. The duo were booked under Section 363 (kidnapping) and Section 366 (abducting woman to compel her marriage) of the IPC, a police official said.

Ahsan and Rahees have been taken to Jammu and Kashmir on three-day transit remand, he added.
