BJP's student wing Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) today won the president's post for the ninth consecutive time in the students' union polls at the DAV PG college.
ABVP's Rakesh Singh Negi defeated NSUI's Mohan Bhandari by 39 votes for the post of the student union's president, Chief polling officer of the students' union Ajay Saxena said.
Aryan Group's Independent candidate Sachin Thapliyal defeated Narendra Sharma for the post of Secretary General of the student's union in the polls which was held on August 27, he said.
Leader of Opposition in Uttarakhand Assembly Ajay Bhatt congratulated the ABVP for wining the polls.
