Accused of stealing cellphones, youth commits suicide

A 19-year-old youth, who was accused of stealing mobile phones, today allegedly committed suicide by jumping off his hostel building here, police said.

The incident occurred in Musheerabad area, where one T Harish, who was pursuing a course in chartered accountancy (CA), leapt off his hostel building, a three-storey structure, this evening and died on the spot, they said.

"Two mobile phones of his room-mates had gone missing last night and someone accused him of stealing them. However, the missing phones were found this morning," a police officer said.

A case was filed by Musheerabad Police and further probe is on.
