Activists to march to Assembly seeking prohibition in Yavatmal

Activists of 'Swamini Darubandi Abhiyan' from Ghatanji in Yavatmal district would be taking out a march to the Maharashtra Legislature in Nagpur on December 8 to press demand of ban on alcohol manufacturing, sale and consumption in Yavatmal district.

According to the campaign's convener, Mahesh Pawar, the march will be flagged off from Yeshwant Stadium at 11 am.

The winter session of state legislature is underway in Nagpur.

"During the last winter session, we had taken out a pad yatra covering over 200 km to state Assembly," Pawar said.

Several other organisations too have been demanding liquor ban in the district.
