AGP becomes largest party in Barpeta Municipal Board election

Asom Gana Parishad has emerged as the largest party by winning 10 seats in 22-member Barpeta Municipal Board.

In the result declared today, Congress won 6 seats, while BJP bagged 1. The Independent candidates won three seats.

Elections in two wards were postponed temporarily under a order of the High Court.
