Jammu and Kashmir Director General (Prisons) K Rajendra Kumar visited Kathua Jail and reviewed security and other arrangements in the wake of a fatal attack on a Pakistani prioner in a jail here.
He promised all assistance to inmates in keeping with the jail manual during an interaction with them yesterday in high-security Kathua prison.
Kumar told them to fully cooperate with the authorities for redressal of their problems.

"All necessary assistance will be given to inmates as per the jail manual," the DG said.
Kumar also held extensive discussions with the prison officials on various issues relating to domestic and foreign prisoners.
He visited all barracks and blocks and asked the jail officials to remain alert to prevent any untoward incident in the prison.
The DG also visited the sub-jail at Hiranagar where he interacted with inmates and enquired about their welfare.
Pakistani prisoner Sannaullah was seriously injured during a scuffle with a fellow inmate in Jammu's Kot Bhalwal prison on May 3 and was airlifted to Chandigarh for treatment.
He breathed his last at the PGIMER there.
