: Renowned playback singer S P Balasubrahmaniam will receive this year's Alva's Virasat award at the inaugural of the annual cultural extravaganza to be held by the Alva's Education Foundation at nearby Puttige.
The four-day Alva's Virasat-2015 would be inaugurated by Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari D Veerendra Heggade on December 24, Foundation chairman M Mohan Alva said in a release here.
Nitte Education Trust chairman N Vinay Hegde will preside.

A musical orchestra by S P Balasubrahmaniam and a concert comprising violin fusion 'Naadasurabhi' by Mysuru Nagaraj, Mysuru Manjunath, Vidwan Ganesh and Vidwan Kumaresh Chennai would be the highlights of the inaugural day's programme.
An array of cultural programmes is slated to be held in the next three days. Noted artist Manu Parekh would be conferred Alva's 'Varna Virasat' award at the valedictory function, the release said.
