Prof A R Kidwai, Director, Academic Staff College today announced that the University has decided to organise training programmes to enable students prepare for defence service entrance examinations "on a regular basis".

This initiative comes a day after Vice Chancellor of AMU, Lt General Zameer Uddin Shah, former Deputy Chief of Army Staff, motivated the young students to join the different defence services.

Addressing a large group of undergraduate students at the AMU yesterday, Shah said, "There is no discrimination in the selection process for different defence services. Youngsters should rid themselves from certain misconceptions regarding career prospects in defence services."

Shah said, "Joining the defence services will bring glory and fortune to you and your families and will provide you with an unparallelled opportunity of serving your motherland."
