Police today registered a case of murder against an unknown person in connection with the suspicious death of a 25-year-old woman in Malad, who was working as an anchor for events.

The woman, identified as Arpita Tiwari, had allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the 15th floor of a building in Malwani area of Malad on Sunday.

Malwani Police had earlier filed a case of accidental death.

However, a case of murder was registered today against an unknown person under sections 302 (punishment for murder) and 201 (disappearance of evidence) of the IPC after Tiwari's family members suspected a foul play in her death, a police official said.

According to the official, Tiwari was in relationship with a person and was about to get married.

Further investigation is on.
