Army jawan Hetram Godara's last rites held with full state honours

The last rites of army jawan Hetram Godara, who was killed during an operation against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, were conducted today with full state honours.

The mortal remains of Godara were brought to Soniasar village in Bikaner district. The 34th Rashtriya Rifle battalion gave a ceremonial fire.

Parliamentary secretary Dr Vishwanath Meghwal, Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Rameshwar Dudi, MLA Hanuman Beniwal, former minister Bhanwarlal Meghwal, former MLA Manglaram Godara gave floral tributes to the martyr.

The funeral pyre was lit by his year-and-a-half-old son.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje also condoled the death of the jawan.

"People of the country are proud of him for his sacrifice for the country. I pray to almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to his bereaved family," Raje said in a message.

 

Godara was born on January 25, 1993 in Bikaner district and recruited in the Army on December 25, 2013.
