Army jawan shoots colleague dead in Meerut

An Army jawan today allegedly shot dead one of his colleagues over suspicion that he was having an illicit relationship with his wife, police said.

According to Kankerkheda police, Amit Kumar Giri (31) and Arvind Kumar Singh (36) were residents of Uttar Pradesh's Balia area and worked in the same unit of the Army. Amit had suspicion that his wife was having an extra-marital affair with Arvind. Last night, Amit allegedly shot dead Arvind with his Insas rifle.

The accused has been arrested and confessed to his crime, they said.
