Arunachal Pradesh governor greets people on Solung

Arunachal Prdesh Governor J P Rajkhowa has extended warm greetings to the people of the state, particularly the Adi Community on the festive occasion of Solung Festival.

The Governor wished that the festivity continues to showcase the rich and vibrant culture of the Adi community adding to the magnificent cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.

In his festival message to the people, Rajkhowa said that the festivals are inseparable part and parcel of the socio-cultural life of the people of the state.

"The members of the Adi Community have been celebrating the Solung, which is an agricultural and socio- religious festival since time immemorial," he said adding, celebration of the colourful festival has been promoting community bonding and bonhomie.
 

The governor expressed confidence that the Solung and other community festivals observed in the state would carry forward the age-old ethnicity of the tribes of the state, besides aiding promotion of the rich cultural heritage.

"On this auspicious occasion, I offer my prayers to 'Kine Nane', the Goddess of crops and prosperity, 'Dadi Bote', the God of Animal kingdom, 'Doying-Bote', the God of Wisdom and all other benevolent deities to shower their blessings to the entire mankind and herald a long period of peace, progress and prosperity of one and all," the governor added in his message.
