Aryan Nehra wins four gold medals at Gujarat aquatic meet

Aryan Nehra won four gold medals at the 31st Sub-Junior and 41st Junior Gujarat State Aquatic Championship that began here today.

The two-day meet, where 200 swimmers from all over Gujarat are taking part, is being held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel pool. The championship has been organised by Rajkot district Swimming Association.

Nehra was the star performer of the opening day, winning gold medals 200 individual medley, 50 meter freestyle, 50 meter back stroke and 4X50 meter freestyle. He established a new state record in 200 individual medley.

Several state-level champions like Mona Patel, Gitanjali Pandey and Om Saxena are taking part in the event.
 

Pandey, known as "aquatic queen" of Gujarat, has won about 20 gold medals at various competitions.
