Mother accuses daughter of theft

A woman here today accused her own daughter of decamping with Rs 4 lakh cash and gold jewellery with the help of her paramour.

Raj Rani lodged a complaint with police alleging that her daughter Vandana (22), resident of Hans Nagar colony here, eloped with Manish Kumar on May 21 and took away with her Rs 4 lakh cash and gold jewelry.

Following the complaint, police registered a case of theft against divorcee Vandana, her paramour Manish, Manish's maternal uncle Ramphal and associate Rajbir.

Efforts were on to trace the whereabouts of Vandana and Manish, police said.
