Hinduja Group flagship firm Ashok Leyland today reported a standalone net profit of Rs 159.31 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2015 mainly on account of robust sales.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 47.95 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal.
Standalone total income from operations also rose to Rs 3,841.21 crore for the quarter under consideration as against Rs 2,477.80 crore for the year ago period.

Commenting on the results, Ashok Leyland MD Vinod K Dasari said, "The growth in market share is a reflection of our focus on profitability of our customers, and our channel partners.
"Further, our investments in many new products and continued strict discipline on costs have helped boost results."
While the industry volume grew by 23 per cent, Ashok Leyland outperformed the sector with a growth of 45 per cent in medium and heavy commercial vehicles, the company said.
Ashok Leyland shares were trading 0.86 per cent up at Rs 87.20 apiece during afternoon session on the BSE.
