Press Trust of India Guwahati
Assam MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed was suspended from the Assembly for the day today by Speaker Pranab Kumar Borah for refusing to stop asking supplementary questions after Zero Hour was over.

When Ahmed continued to raise supplementary questions beyond the Zero Hour despite the Speaker's repeated reminders, Bora warned him to stop else he would be suspended for the day.

Ahmed insisted "I am not going. The issue I have raised is on human rights violence".

Upon the arrival of the Assembly Marshals on being summoned by the Speaker to physically remove him, Sherman left the House stating he was walking out in protest against his questions not being replied.

Asserting that two Indian nationals Ashan Molla and Monowara Begum, under two separate Illegal Migrants Determination by Tribunals, Barpeta, cases were declared foreigners by the Guwahati High Court, Ahmed demanded that the government take up their case with the Supreme Court to give them justice.

Baghbar constituency MLA Sherman Ali Ahmed was expelled from the primary membership of the AIUDF for his anti-party activities in July last year.
